Pursuant to the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and the Townsend Wetlands Bylaw, the Townsend Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at approximately 7:15 pm. The hearing will be held virtually via Zoom meeting and in person at Town Hall, on a Notice of Intent (NOI) filed with the Conservation Commission by Steve Boucher of Settlement Farm, LLC. The property is located at 153 Wallace Hill Road (Assessor’s Map 35, Parcel 30). 

The proposed project is for the installation of a driveway crossing over an intermittent stream, with the access driveway and new horse paddocks being installed within the 100-foot buffer of bordering vegetated wetlands.

  The Town of Townsend is hereby soliciting sealed bids for the Main Street (Route 119) Sidewalk Construction Project (formerly Squannacook River Rail Trail Connectivity Project).  Bids will be received at the Office of the Board of Selectmen at the Townsend Town Hall until October 23, 2024 at 11:00 A.M, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.  Bids received after such time will not be accepted.  Sealed envelopes containing bids must be clearly marked in accordance with the Bidding Contract Requirements.  Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a BID BOND, CASH, or, CERTIFIED CHECK issued by a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the bid price.

The proposed project is for the extension of a public storm drainpipe to outfall into the 100-foot bordering vegetated wetland buffer.
