NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

   Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40A, Section 5, the Townsend Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 6:35 PM in the Selectmen’s Chambers, Townsend Town Hall, and via Zoom to consider the following citizen’s petition to amend the Townsend Zoning Bylaw: To see if the Town will vote to: Amend §145-26 (Residential Districts) Append text at the end of §145-26(B)(14): Notwithstanding any provision of this Bylaw to the contrary, an APARTMENT/MULTIFAMILY BUILDING, as defined by §145-5, is prohibited on the following parcels: Assessor’s Map 10, Parcel 52 (Blood Road) and Assessor’s Map 10, Parcel 70 (West Elm Street). Amend §145-47 (Open space multifamily development (OSMD) Insert at the end of §145-47(B): “The provisions of this section shall not apply to Assessor’s Map 10, Parcel 52 and Assessor’s Map 10, Parcel 70.” Or take any action in relation thereto.

 Interested parties may attend in person at the Selectmen’s Chambers or participate remotely via Zoom.
