SPORTS: GDYBL'S Sgt. Woitowicz Tournament

Over 120 teams will compete in the 10th Annual Sgt William J Woitowicz 3on3 Basketball Tournament sponsored by Groton-Dunstable Travel Basketball League. ALL hoop age groups will be represented including divisions ranging from Grade 4 students to high school and adult competitive and recreational divisions. Adult divisions include Women and Men's open age group teams and over 30, over 40 and 50 yr old players

Register your team at www.gdybl.org Registration opened Feb. 8. Register before March 1 to get free tee shirts for all team members. Registration closes March 8.

Games will take place at Lawrence Academy (26 Powderhouse Rd) and Groton Dunstable Regional High School (703 Chicopee Row), Groton. 8 fast-paced, half-court games will be played simultaneously. We'll conduct free throw and 3 point shooting competitions during championship match games played on Sunday. Other events include prizes for most original team name and uniform and Spirit of Billy Award. This will be given to the player that displays good sportsmanship and character at a high level of play. Admission free and open to all basketball fans.

Teams from over 20 local area towns will participate.

Tournament could not be run without support of local sponsors, including, Lowell General Hospital, DSCI Corp., MTS Consulting, Middlesex Savings Bank and more...
