SPORTS: Crusaders Football Team Back on Winning Track

Senior quarterback Quintin Forbes scored three rushing touchdowns and passed for a fourth to lead visiting Groton-Dunstable (2-2, 1-2 Mid-Wach B) past North Middlesex, 26-7 in Mid-Wach B action.

Forbes completed five of ten passes for 103 yards and rushed for 129 yards on 22 carries. Junior fullback Joey Orlando had 13 carries for 55 yards and a pair of receptions for 60 yards.

Touchdowns of three and five yards respectively by Forbes had GD ahead 14-0 in the second quarter before the Patriots (2-2) made it interesting on a John Boutwell 10-yard touchdown pass to Ryan MacDonald and trailed 14-7 at the half.

After the break, TD's by Forbes and junior Drew Moore (20-yard pass from Forbes) in the third and a solid defensive effort led by junior P.J. Kendall (seven tackles, a sack and fumble recovery) put this one in the win column for GD.

Friday, Oct. 11 is Groton-Dunstable's Homecoming game against Algonquin (0-4).
