Girls Soccer

Groton-Dunstable (8-6-3) girls soccer lost to Wachusett 6-3 in the 2013 MIAA Girls Soccer Central Division 1quarter final round.

Mountaineers and Crusaders were tied 2-2 at the half. Lady Csgoal scorers were Olivia Rubeski (assist: Brianna Considine), Kara Jussaume (assist: Brittany Belanger), Ariana LaCombe

(unassisted). GD finished its inaugural season in Division 1 in Midland B and were ranked 5th in the Central Mass.

Volleyball

GD lost to Medfield (17-4), 3-0 in quarterfinals of the 2013 MIAA Girls Volleyball Central Division 2 tournament. In first round action GD defeated Worcester North, 3-1.

Against North, it was solid team effort and strong serves from Jamie Debrecini, Katrina Kangwijaya, that figured in the 25-16 GD win first set.

With Natalie Rodriguez serving, the Polar Bears jumped out to a 13-8 lead in second set. But Crusader Taylor White serving, GD ran nine straight points on the way to a 25-20 decision.

North took the third set 25-23 but the locals rallied to win the fourth set and game. For GD, it was its third consecutive year in the post-season Tournament.
