Groton senior Jake Riggert received honorable mention from the Independent School League for his performance on a Lawrence Academy football team that ranked third in the league at the end of the season with a 6-2 record. Jake contributed heavily to both the offense and defense. On offense he started three games at left guard and five games at right tackle, making the switch with enthusiasm and hard work. On defense, he had 15 tackles, two forced fumbles, and three quarterback harasses. Coach Paul Zukauskas notes, "Jake was a pleasure to coach. He truly led by example and was a huge contributor to the team's success." Jake is the son of Karen and David Riggert of Groton.
Senior Samantha Cotoni was a Tri-captain of the Daniel Webster College field hockey team this past season. The Groton resident played defense and was a four year starter for the Eagles. She is a 2009 graduate of Groton-Dunstable Regional where she was a defensive standout for the field hockey team.
