The Tyngsboro Post 247 American Legion team stayed alive in the Zone 5B playoff chase by winning two games over the weekend. Faced with a must-win situation in Saturday's game, they defeated Reading 6-5 in a come-from-behind victory.

On Sunday, they rolled over Weston 6-2. Tyngsboro is in the thick of a race with Lowell and Billerica vying for second place in the division and the final Zone 5 playoff spot. The regular season ends on July 23 when they host Lexington at 6:00 at Tyngsboro Elementary School. Groton's Alex Marken, a senior at GDRHS, is an outfielder on the team.
