LATE BREAKING NEWS: Icemen Overpower Marlborough 5-2 to Win Semifinal

The Groton-Dunstable hockey team defeated Marlborough 5-2 in a Central Mass. Division 3 semifinal game on Wednesday night. Connor Maguire (assist CJ Kenny) and Alan Haynes (assist Matt Ovenden) put the Crusaders up 2-0 in the first period. But Marlborough scored two powerplay goals in the second to even the game.

CJ Kenny scored the game winner early in the third period and a Mike Keating goal put the Crusaders up by a pair. Nathan Rabbit sealed the deal with 2:50 left in the game. The Crusaders outshot the Panthers 43-21 with goalie Jason Robes making 19 saves. GD (16-1-4) will play Wachusett (16-3-2) for the Central Mass. Championship. on Monday, March 11 at the Wallace Civic Center at 8:00 p.m.
