STATE PRIMARY SEPT. 9. ABSENTEE BALLOTS AVAILABLE

Absentee ballots for the Tues., Sept. 9 State Primary are available at Town Clerk's Office. Monday, Sept. 8 at noon is the last day and hour to request an absentee ballot. All absentee ballots must be received by the Town Clerk by election day in order to be counted.

The last day for new voters to register for the State Primary is Wed., Aug.20 at 8 p.m.

Voters registered in a party (Republican/Democratic) are eligible to vote in the primary of that party. Unenrolled voters have their choice of party ballot, and must decide this prior to asking for their ballot.

Massachusetts allows voters to vote by absentee ballot if they:

•will be absent from their city or town on election day, and/or

•have a physical disability that prevents their voting at the polling place, and/or

•cannot vote at the polls due to religious beliefs.
