ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for procurement of one (1) 15 kV EQUIPMENT PACKAGE will be received at the Groton Electric Light Department, 23 Station Avenue, Groton, Massachusetts 01450, until 2:00 pm (local time) on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at which place and time said Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud. Bids must be received in triplicate in a sealed, opaque envelope marked "BID FOR 15 kV SUBSTATION EQUIPMENT PACKAGE, BID NO. 905105-01".

This bid is for procurement of material only.

The Contract Documents may be examined and obtained at the Offices of Groton Electric Light Department, 23 Station Avenue, Groton, Massachusetts 01450, during normal business hours, generally Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Each Bid shall be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check, or a treasurer's or cashiers check, issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Groton Electric Light Department, for a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid, or accompanied by a Bid Bond in like amount of a corporate surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Each Bid shall be conditioned that the Bidder will pay Groton Electric Light Department, as liquidated damages, the amount specified unless it enters into a Contract in accordance with its Bid.

If the successful bidder fails to enter into the contract and furnish the required forms within ten (10) business days following delivery to the bidder of the Owners Notice of Award, the bidder may forfeit the bid surety, at the option of the Town.

All bids must be made on the Bid Form provided in these specifications, unless additional space is required for terms and conditions or technical deviations, in which case, a supplementary sheet on bidders letterhead or quotation form may be used, and shall become a part of the Bid Form. The Town of Groton Electric Light Department specifically reserves the right to reject any bid not made on the form provided, to waive any irregularity or informality, to reject any or all bids, or to accept any bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Groton Electric Light Department, Groton, Massachusetts.
