FOLLOWING FAILURE to Sell Prescott, Yet Another Committee

The future of the historic Prescott School on Main Street will be addressed by yet another committee, following the failure of the plan to sell the building to a local businessman at town meeting last month.

This newest committee as proposed by Town Manager Mark Haddad would be made up of Human Resources, and those involved in construction and building trades. This seven-member committee would be called the Municipal Building Committee for Prescott School.

Selectman Jack Petropoulos questioned how Human Resources would be used in such a project and fellow Selectman Stuart Schulman commenting that it "is not worth a whole seat" to have a human resources member. Haddad agreed to take the HR member out of the seven-member committee.

Resident Greg Sheldon said he recalled that there was discussion previously regarding membership and that it would include one or two members of the Prescott Re-Use Committee and members from the Finance Committee. Haddad said that there would be a member(s) from the Prescott Reuse committee and possibly members from the FinCom.
