SCHOOLS: Community Tech Night at Groton-Dunstable Regional High School
Thursday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. GDRSD's EdTech team will host a community tech night for all members of the Groton-Dunstable community. This is an opportunity for all residents to come to the high school and learn how our school community is integrating and innovating technology in the classroom.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about technology applications and devices students and teachers are using daily.
This session will be the first of a monthly series of community tech nights that feature different topics each month. The plan is to hold community tech nights on the third Thursday of every month. First session, Google Apps for Education and Your Students, will center around the Google Apps for Education suite of apps and provide participants with a clear understanding of how students and teachers are leveraging these tools in the classroom. The session will cover applications such as GMail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar.
The session will provide time for learning about applications, questions, and hands-on workshop with the tools. All sessions will be targeted towards beginners and those interested in learning more about technology and how technology is being integrated in an academic context.
Participants are welcome to bring their own device, or one can be provided. Session will take place at the high school library and run about an hour and a half at length. For questions, contact Andy Marcinek, Director of Technology at amarcinek@gdrsd.org.
