Child Development Center Opens at Applewild
Child Development Center at Applewild (CDCA) opened mid- June on the campus of Applewild in Fitchburg. The school transitioned the preschool program for three- and four-year-olds from Burbank (Hospital) Child Development Center which closed June 14. During summer the Center is housed in the newest building on campus, the Stone Family Dining Hall. With help of a grant from Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts, renovation of the former wood shop and choral music classroom, slated to be completed in August, will result in a permanent home for the Child Development Center.
In an effort to perpetuate the well-respected Burbank program, Applewild has adopted the curriculum and price-points that families were accustomed to. Several teachers from Burbank have been hired to assure consistency. Info on the CDCA program is available at www.applewild.org or by calling 978-342-6053 x111. Families looking for a quality preschool program as well as day care from 7:15 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. will find a variety of options to meet their needs. In addition to the new CDCA program, Applewild is a Kindergarten - grade eight coeducational independent day school serving families in central MA and southern NH.
