Applewild Initiatives and Partnerships
Applewild School announces two initiatives which will be part of the school's program beginning Sept. The first will be an international student program, accepting students into grades six-eight. The second is an admissions agreement between Applewild and Cushing Academy which will be beneficial to qualified Applewild students who want to continue their secondary education at Cushing.
Seeking to formalize the international student program, Applewild is working with Boston-based Cambridge Institute of International Education. Applewild will institute an English Language Learning Program, with the goal of having two international students each in grades six, seven and eight by 2015. International students will be matched with qualified host families in the area.
The second initiative is a joint program between Cushing Academy and Applewild which will have potential benefits to families seeking independent education close to home throughout elementary and secondary years. Students who have achieved academic honors and are in good standing at Applewild in seventh grade will gain automatic acceptance to Cushing Academy for grades nine-12 including a 10 percent discount on tuition, assuming they continue that level of performance in eighth grade. To further enhance affordability, Applewild offers merit scholarships to fifth and sixth graders.
