YOUN ADULT WRITER

Kendall Kulper

Having released her second novel in 2015, Cambridge native Kendall Kulper is excited to make an appearance at the Lawrence Library Thursday, Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m. to talk with teens about Salt and Storm and Drift and Dagger.

For Ms. Kulper, this event brings her full circle back to her roots. With memories of weekly visits to the library as a kid, making discoveries of wonderful books within the stacks. Kulper's appearance is part of an ongoing initiative at the library to bring in more cultural and literary experiences for tweens and young adults. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lawrence Library.

PAINTINGS

Local artist Rob Franco will show his oil paintings of "New England and Eastern Shore coastlines ... boats and wildlife such as the Wild Assateague Island ponies, birds and sea creatures" in the beautiful Lawrence Library Art Gallery.

Meet the artist Saturday, Jan. 9. At 11 AM, there will be a screening of a short documentary about wild ponies of Assateague Island. The video is 20 minutes, and a show and tell afterwards of interesting Items found on the beach. Each participant will get a photo of ponies used for reference for paintings. Following video, there will be an Opening Reception noon - 2 PM. Light refreshments served, sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Show runs through Feb. 6.

Justin Cohn

Singer/songwriter Justin Cohn will perform at Lawrence Library, Saturday, January 16 at 7 p.m. Free and open to the public the concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Lawrence Library.
