HOLIDAY Open House

Townsend Historical Society is holding its Annual Holiday Open House Sunday, Dec.7, 1-4 pm at the Reed Homestead, 72 Main St., Townsend.

Everyone is invited to take a break from shopping, baking, buying and the hurry to step back to 1809. Enjoy the fire in the hearth, a treat baked in the beehive oven, Christmas cookies, and hot mulled cider before taking a tour of a unique historic treasure .

Reed House was owned by several generations of the same family, and it has changed very little over more than 200 years. Still boasting beautiful 1835 Rufus Porter murals, the Federal era house is rich with stories of the town's history.
