ASHES ON THE STREET

Kicking off Lenten season with Ashes-to-go the Rev. Gareth Evans, Rev. Aileen DiBenedetto and lay leader Wendy Feddersen of The Church of the Good Shepherd -Episcopal, in Acton, offers the Christian sign of repentance - a cross of ashes on the forehead - to anyone who seeks it at South Acton train station, 4:45pm and 6pm Wed., Feb. 10.

Ashes-to-Go is a modern spin on the Ash Wednesday tradition. Taking ashes on the streets began in St. Louis in 2007 when Episcopal priest, the Rev. Teresa K.M. Danieley decided to offer people ashes who were literally on the go, between home and work, their way to the coffee shop or where ever.."   Church of the Good Shepherd, 64 Newtown Rd., Acton.
