Advent at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church

"Finding Joy in Times of Darkness" Sermon Series Finding joy in dark times and places will be the theme of a sermon series given on the four Sundays in Advent, by the Rev. Joyce Scherer-Hoock of St. Andrew's. Advent is a season of contemplation and preparation in anticipation of the joy of Christmas. It includes the lighting of the Advent Wreath, hymns of anticipation and other customs expressive of hope.

Advent Quiet Morning- Saturday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. An oasis of peace in midst of Pre-Christmas chaos. The Rev. Joyce Scherer-Hoock will offer three mediations on the central Scriptural passages of Advent using art, music and time for reflection. The morning will end with lunch. $ 5 for lunch suggested.
