Groton Police Log For Week of May 1

On May 10, 2023, at approximately 8:36 AM, Groton police officers were dispatched to the Nashua River Rail Trail Bridge at the intersection of Main St. and Arlington St., for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Multiple 9-1-1 calls stated that a large truck was in an accident and was on its side. The truck was identified as a roll-off truck; the hoist did not clear the height of the bridge.  No damage was done to the bridge; however, the truck sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene. Main Street was closed and traffic was detoured until noon.
