Space and Diversity Discussed at Women's Club
Town Planner and Land Use Director, Michelle Collette, spoke to the Groton Woman's Club Jan. 17, about her role along with the Planning Board and Conservation Commission, in preserving the qualities that have been and still are so important to the town - maintaining open space and a demographic mix. Both the Historic Commission and Conservation Commission were established in 1962.
A Master Plan was written in 1963, and updated in 2012. It has become a blueprint for planning for the future of the town. With the recent development of 134 Main, the near future building of a new Groton Inn, and potential future for the Prescott School building, there is much to look forward to and plan for as the town approaches its 360th year in 2015.
