Celebrating Land Anniversary

Life Scout Jesse King of Troop 3 Groton on Dec. 28 commemorated the 45th anniversary of Natica I. Bates's donation of 38 acres to Groton Conservation Trust.

This past October for his Eagle Scout Project, Jesse spearheaded the effort with his fellow scouts on the Bates/Blackman Land (off Old Ayer Rd.). They revitalized the entrance to the property, thoroughly cleaned the dedication stone so it can be read easily, and erected an information kiosk where GCT will post maps and information.
