Patricia Louise Wilcox Von Seggern
Patricia Louise Wilcox Von Seggern, died on February 23, 2025 surrounded by her family after a long illness at the age of 81. “Pat”, as she was affectionately known by everyone, was born on October 2, 1943 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Charles and Grace (nee Hull) Wilcox. Pat attended and graduated from Roger Ludlowe High and subsequently completed her degree in education at Cedar Crest College. During her teaching career Pat was certified in special education. She eventually went on to earn her MBA at Syracuse University and subsequently taught marketing at Syracuse.
Following her teaching career, Pat dedicated her time to local politics, serving as the Head of the Board of Selectman in Groton Massachusetts for three years. Pat’s next family move was to New Hope Pennsylvania where she enjoyed retirement immensely spending time with friends, traveling the world and volunteering at the Doylestown Hospital.
Beyond her professional achievements, Pat found joy in her many hobbies. She loved to travel, visiting 82 countries and every continent except Antarctica. Amongst her favorite destinations were Bermuda and the island of Nantucket. When she was on- island, she never missed a Madaket Beach #4 sunset. She was crafty with her hands and over the years sewed, knitted, and crocheted many articles of clothing for herself, her children, and her grandchildren. Upon discovering she possessed a talent for putting together beautiful floral arrangements, she started her own successful craft business, “Pinecones by Pat”. Her holiday decorations and wreaths were stunning. She loved to feed people and delicious comfort food was her specialty. She took pride in the many events she hosted over the years and was always known to open her house and home to friends and family alike. Her love for family and friends was especially evident at Christmastime when she pulled out all the stops to make it the best season for everyone around her.
Pat was preceded in death by her spouse Walter Von Seggern, her parents Charles and Grace (nee Hull) Wilcox, and her sister Jo-Anne Bohmer, and is survived by her sisters Carol Angus and Elizabeth Unkel; her children Kristen L. Von Seggern, Kenneth H. Abrahamsen III (Heidi), Timothy E. Abrahamsen (Ingrid), and Christopher E. Von Seggern (Christina),;grandchildren Josefine, Austin, Kaitlyn, Madison, Woodstock, Arda, and Tigran.
The family plans to hold a celebration of life in the spring. Pat valued generosity as a character trait in those she kept close. She felt it was important that people give whatever they had more of - be it time, money, knowledge, or a skill - to others. She leaves a legacy in those whose lives she touched with her own generosity. In lieu of flowers, donations to Doylestown Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
