OBITUARY: Sandra A. Alcott
Sandra "Sandy" A. (Daggett) Alcott, RN, died at Massachusetts General Hospital with family and close friends by her side, after a short illness. Sandy was the beloved wife and best friend of Brian and devoted Mom to Kiersten and David.
She was born in Leominster, on February 24,1959, daughter of the late Leon F. and Alice T. (Bourque) Daggett. A resident of Leominster in her earlier years, she attended Leominster Schools and was a graduate of Leominster High School Class of 1977 where she was the class valedictorian. Upon graduation, her studies continued at Fitchburg State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in Nursing.
She was employed as an emergency room nurse at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, where her career spanned 30 years of caring, compassion, and professionalism.
She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years Brian M. Alcott, and her devoted children Kiersten "Kerry" E. Alcott and David J. Alcott, all of Groton. She is also survived by her brother Wayne and sister-in-law Cathleen Daggett of Leominster, niece Kelly (Daggett) Johnson and husband David, their children Madeline, Chloe, and Violet, all of Spencer, her in-laws Ronald K. and Lillian A. Alcott, as well as her beloved dogs.
Sandy's life seems too short to many, but those who were touched by her understand that the quality of her existence far exceeds the quantity of years she lived.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of Grace Parish worshipping at St. James Church, West Groton. Badger Funeral Home handled arrangements.
