Margaret Mary McPartlan - Mother and Grandmother

Margaret McPartlan,78, of Groton passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at Leominster Hospital. Margaret was born in Westford, February 24,1933, daughter of the late Clorinda (Andrews) and Jeremiah O'Brien.

Margaret is survived by longtime companion John R. Dupre of Lunenburg where she resided for the last 17 years. She survived two siblings Mary (O'Brien) Duprey and William F. O'Brien. She also survived her first husband Harry Lawrence and oldest son Dale A Lawrence. She also survived her second husband John M. McPartlan. She is survived by her four children: Elaine M. McPartlan and Linda A Truax and husband Theron of Groton, John F. McPartlan and his wife Donna of Tyngsboro and Steven W. McPartlan of Groton. She was the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren: Terry " TJ" Truax and fiancée Katelyn Nelson, Hilary and James Lawrence, Harley Truax, Justine and John McPartlan and Hunter Truax, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Pepperell High School class of 1951. She was an employee of the Bemis Bag Company several years. Later she drove school bus for Buckingham Bus Service in Groton. She was also employed as the office manager for Blood Farm in West Groton for more than 45 years. She was president of the counsel for the handicapped, a member of Sacred Heart Church and Groton Senior Center. Margaret enjoyed membership in several clubs, Western Mass ATCA Truck club, East Coast Antique Tractor club, Historical Construction Association, Central Mass Steam, Gas and Machine Association, Muster Field Farm Museum and Granite State Chapter ATCA. Margaret also liked to travel to visit family in England and Greece. She traveled for vacation to Jerusalem, Hawaii, Florida. Margaret was truly loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Funeral service was held Feb. 28. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Lunenburg Fire-Rescue Fund. 655 Mass. Ave. Lunenburg, MA 01462.
