Safe To Swim At Lost Lake . . SONAR is working

Haddad read a report from President of the Groton Lakes Association Art Prest informing him of the progress of the application of the herbicide Sonar to both Lost Lake and Knop's Pond in an effort to kill off the invasive weeds that are choking the lakes. While the Sonar application is only 30 days into the 90 day process, already the tips of the lake weeds are starting to turn pink, a clear indication that the herbicide is working.

According to Lost Lake resident and Groton Lakes Association member Rena Swezey, the lake is safe to swim in and said her grandchildren along with many other area children enjoyed cooling off in the lake during the recent hot spell.
