Illicit Marijuana Cultivation in Groton

Detective Cory Waite [left] of the Groton Police Department presents evidence of a few of the more than 300 marijuana plants discovered in an investigation into illicit marijuana cultivation in a remote area in the northwest section of town.

Detective Waite said the ongoing investigation was begun more than a month ago based on a tip. The detective added that the plants had not reached maturity and were not well-tended.
