Residents with homes assessed at an average of $400,000 should see their tax bills drop by approximately $50 following approval by voters at Fall Annual Town Meeting to transfer the sum of $200,000 for the purpose of off-setting the tax rate. According to Town Accountant Patricia Dufresne, the town will know the exact amount of the reduction once the tax rate is set - so don't spend it all just yet!
