Fire Station Debt Exclusion Ballot Vote Approved 1,439 to 579

Results of the Tuesday, April 1 vote to exclude the debt from provisions of Proposition 2½ to pay for the bond issued to construct the new Center Fire Station on Farmers Row totaled 1439 "yes" votes to 579 "no" votes, with 18 blanks.

Voter turnout was 26.7 percent or 2036 of the 7615 registered voters as of March 12.

Precinct 1 had the largest turnout with 30 percent or 804; Precinct 3 was next with 689 or 28 percent; and Precinct 2 had 22 percent or 543 voters. Precinct 1 had the highest number of "no" votes with 273 or 33 percent voting no. Precincts 2 and 3 had 25 percent and 24 percent respectively voting no.
