Early Drawdown Of Lost Lake Will Facilitate Beach Restoration

The Town DPW will lower the dam controlling the level of Lost Lake and Knops Pond no earlier than September 22. The water level will be lowered slowly and will conclude approximately on October 13 (Columbus Day).

The dam is being lowered earlier this year to accommodate the Sargisson Beach Restoration Project, funded by the Community Preservation Committee. The project will repair damage to the shoreline and address stormwater runoff issues that impact water quality in the lake.

Please call the Land Use Department at 978-448-1105 if you have any questions or concerns.
