Margaret Sanders Lloyd

On March 16, 2026, the world bid farewell to Margaret Sanders Lloyd, affectionately known as “Peg” to her friends and family, as she napped peacefully in her bed, at the age of 80 years old.

Born on July 3, 1945, in the town of Morrisville, VT, Peg was the cherished daughter of Willard and Helen Sanders.

A woman of strength, grace, and unwavering devotion, Peg was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Harold Vincent Lloyd Jr, “Skip”, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage, a partnership marked by profound love and shared commitment to their faith and community. Together, they built a life enriched by the joy of service, extending their hearts and hands to those in need across multiple congregations throughout the country.

Margaret’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by her son Randy, her sisters Sukay Sanders Campbell and Patricia Sanders, her nephew Scott Campbell with his family, and her niece Kimberly Bruder with her family. Additionally, her sisters-in-law, Sandy Eberle, Joy Stone, and Judith Lloyd. Her family was her anchor and greatest pride, and her devotion to them was boundless.

A graduate of Peoples Academy in 1964, Margaret pursued her passion for education at Johnson State College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education in 1969. Her career was a testament to her commitment to nurturing young minds and bodies, whether as a dedicated Physical Education teacher and coach at Whitcomb Jr/Sr High School in Bethel, VT, or as the owner and operator of “Stepping Stones” Daycare Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Later, she found fulfillment as a substitute teacher, Special Education facilitator, and Computer Aide in the Churchville-Chili Central School District.

Margaret’s life was imbued with creativity and a zest for life. She found joy in arts and crafts, was an avid sports enthusiast, and delighted in the harmony of playing the saxophone with the Morrisville Military Band. Her trips to Charm, OH, with cherished friends from Spencerport, were adventures filled with laughter and treasured memories. As a devoted minister’s wife, Margaret played an integral role in the church life of every community she and Skip served, fostering faith and fellowship in Bethel, VT; North Adams, MA; Sioux Falls, SD; Spencerport, NY; and Athol, MA. Her compassionate nature and open heart were a beacon to many, as she welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness.

In lieu of a funeral service, in accordance with Margaret’s final wishes, her family invites all who knew her to keep her spirit alive through shared memories and stories. Those wishing to honor her memory may make donations in her name to MSPCA-Angell, an organization close to her heart. Margaret Sanders Lloyd was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and generosity. Her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know her.
