We Must Protect the Water - by Margaret Howe-Soper

To the Editor:

I was disappointed that the sewering of the Lost Lake area didn't pass at town meeting Monday night. While not a resident of that area, I do have town water and consider water THE one resource we

must protect above all others. I can understand people's hesitation to pay for town services, as

I am a retiree on fixed income. However I would be glad to have the town pay a higher proportion

than 25 percent of the total cost of protecting the town's water supply. The thought of drinking tap

water contaminated by untreated waste is just plain...gross.
