Letter from Peter Cunningham: 'My Sincere Appreciation'

Dear Editor,

I want to offer my sincere appreciation to the voters of Groton for their support at the recent town election. I recognize the responsibility that comes with public service at the local level to maintain a balanced approach to the many issues that we face as a community. And clearly our future agenda will be busy from this issue of adequate funding for our schools to the proposed Tennessee Gas pipeline project.

Unlike public policy that is made at the state and federal level, citizens have an opportunity to 'reach out and touch' their local officials and make clear their views. It is this interaction that makes being a member of the Board of Selectmen so interesting and it is an honor to continue receiving the support of the voters. Thank you all and take care.
