NRWA Orientation and Training for Water Monitoring Volunteers
Nashua River Watershed Association launches its 24th season of water monitoring Monitoring will start morning of Saturday, April 16, and continue each third Saturday of the month through October at approximately 43 sites on rivers and streams in 14 watershed communities in MA and NH. Water samples taken in the field are delivered to labs in Pepperell or Devens for testing by NRWA staff and lab volunteers.
Tuesday evening, April 5, NRWA will hold an Orientation and Training session for those interested in learning more about water monitoring and volunteer opportunities. Session runs 7 to 8 p.m. at the NRWA River Resource Center, 592 Main St. (Rt. 119) in Groton. Interested volunteers may be asked to monitor a new site, join an existing team, or be a back-up when monitors are not available. New sites are considered based on data needs, volunteer availability, and funding.
