Guided Trail Hike: Winter in McLain's Woods
Sunday, March 13 at 1PM sharp, join us on a guided winter hike on the trails of McLain's Woods, led jointly by the Groton Trails Committee and the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). This large, wild conservation area is a wonderful choice for an enjoyable New England woods walk and features the largest collection of vernal pools in the area.
Our hike will take about 2 hours. Leashed dogs welcome. Wear winter hiking boots, snowshoes, or crampons/spikes, as snow-cover conditions warrant. Hike held unless very stormy. From Reedy Meadow Rd., turn onto McLain's Woods Rd.. Go about 0.1 mile, staying left. Park at the trail head on the right (south) side of the road, next to an open field (Coord. 42.6396N, 71.5582W).
