Groton Residents Walk in Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund  
Sunday, Sept. 21, Team Zebra Divas's from Groton will walk up to 26.2 miles along the historic Boston Marathon® route in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai.
Among the 11 from Groton is Elizabeth Acaba, 51, who knows first-hand the importance of money raised for cancer research and treatment by the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk. As a cancer patient diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer in December 2011, she continues to undergo treatments at Dana-Faber and credits the doctors, nurses and staff and the Institute's latest research and technologies with helping to extend her life. As a thank you, Acaba will walk for the first time in the 26th annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Her goal is to raise $1,000 as a tribute to other cancer patients. This year's event will bring the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk's 26-year fundraising total to more than $100 million.
