Groton Historical Society Open House and a Summer Ramble in West Groton
The historic Boutwell House will be open Saturdays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 11 and 25, and August 8 and 22. Come to the Boutwell House for a look into the history of food preparation from Colonial times up through the Victorian era. We will feature artifacts used for preparing many of the dishes found on the dining tables of everyday New Englanders. One might be surprised at how recognizable these items are today.
The Annual Summer Ramble will be Tuesday, July 21, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. We will meet at Clover Farms at 6 p.m. The tour includes Hollingsworth & Vose, St. James Church, the Carvers' Guild, RiverCourt and the Christian Union Church. Enjoy homemade ice cream and West Groton Reminiscences.
Thanks to the Town of Groton Lecture Funds this event is free. No RSVP necessary.
