BOSTON GAY Men's Chorus Performs Benefit in Groton

First Parish Church of Groton, Unitarian Universalist and First Parish Church United of Westford are co-sponsoring a community outreach concert by Boston Gay Men's Chorus (BGMC) Sun., March 8, 3 p.m. at Groton-Dunstable Performing Arts Center. All proceeds benefit local schools. Their first concert in Groton several years ago packed the hall and earned rave reviews.

As active members of a community that is inclusive of every person, the churches take the responsibility in raising awareness for the need for tolerance and respect for gay, lesbian, and transgender youth, along with the urgent need to stop bullying and its often tragic consequence of teen suicide. To do this, profits from the concert are being donated to several local schools that have programs that create a safe and supportive environment for gay, lesbian, and transgender students.

Concert will feature the music of Stephen Schwartz, celebrating his music from Godspell, Pippin, Wicked, and more. As a special feature, the Children's Choirs from both churches will join Boston Gay Men's Chorus and sing one song together.

There will be a post-concert reception with beverages and snacks and an opportunity to chat with members of the chorus.

Tickets available online www.mktix.com/fpcg. Prices: $20 Adults, $15 seniors (65+), $10 students. Tickets also available in Groton at The Blackbird Café, Main Street Café, Bliss Bakery, and Second Hand Prose Bookstore; in Westford at First Parish Church United, and at the door (cash only).
