ARTS: Kids' Art Classes

ArtsNashoba, a newly-formed, non-profit, youth arts organization, offers two art classes beginning mid-Sept.

Instructor Marjorie Vandreuil has taught drawing to all ages both privately and at community centers. Classes to be relaxed and fun.

Friday Night Fun with Art is an opportunity for young artists age 12-18 to enjoy Friday nights with like-minded kids who aren't shy about exploring their creative interests and talking about them. Students will be encouraged to go beyond boundaries of technique and mine their imaginations.

Students will explore ways to bring out creativity and gain art knowledge by drawing from observation. Students will have the opportunity to experience college level art instruction. This class may help in building a college portfolio. Session begins Friday, Sept. 19, 6:30 - 8 p.m. Groton (seven classes total in this initial fall session).

Saturday Morning Animal Drawing is a beginner class designed for kids ages eight-11 who love to draw. Each student will learn basic methods of drawing, rendering and shading. Using their imagination and artist's materials, children will create a menagerie of their favorite animals both real or fanciful...the possibilities are endless. Classes begin Saturday, Sept. 20, 10 a.m. - noon., There are eight classes in this initial fall session.

All art classes take place in the Parish House of Union Congregational Church, Main St. and Willowdale Ave., Groton.
