   In accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40C, the Groton Historic Districts Commission (GHDC) will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 25^th, 2023, at 7:50 pm at The Groton Town Hall, First Floor Meeting Room, 173 Main Street, Groton, MA 01450. This meeting will be held to consider the application submitted by owners, Luke and Katie Kenney, seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness for 58 Hollis Street, Assessors Map 112-113 to install a fieldstone retaining wall. Copies of the application and supporting materials are available for review by contacting the GHDC via the Land Use Dept, 2^nd floor of the Town Hall.

This meeting will be held to consider the application submitted by Gus Widmayer, seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness for 240 Main Street, Assessors Map 112-90 to remove the balustrade from the roofline. GROTON WATER DEPARTMENT

SEASONAL WATER MAIN FLUSHING

   The Groton Water Department will begin its annual flushing of the water distribution system on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 thru Tuesday, May 2, 2023. All water main flushing occurs during the daytime hours only. We anticipate the flushing program will take approximately three weeks to complete. You will experience low water pressure and discolored water during the flushing effort and we apologize for this inconvenience. 

   If you experience a prolonged period of discolored water, please run numerous cold water taps simultaneously for five to 10 minutes or until it clears up.

   This is the time to thoroughly flush your hot water tank.

   The water distribution system flushing program is subject to change without notice and the dates listed below are approximate only!

Please be sure to call our offices between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the most up to date location of the Flushing Program or check our web site at www.grotonwater.org

Area 1 - April 11, 12 & 13: Orchard Lane, Schoolhouse Road, Hemlock Park Drive, Chestnut Hill Road; 12^th and 13^th - Martins Pond Road Hollis Street, Champney Street, Middle School Complex, Main Street, Lowell Road, Lost Lake Drive.

Dead- Ends – April 14: Lost Lake Area, Common Street, Longley Road, Sheple Lane , Deerfield Drive, Allans Trail

Area 2 - April 19 and 20: Duck Pond Drive, Hidden Valley Road, Whiley Road, Boston Road, Forge Village Road, Hayden Road, Sandy Pond Road, Robin Hill Road, Quail Ridge Road, Stonebridge / Old Carriage Path, Gilson Road and Bayberry Road. 

Area 3 - April 25: Old Ayer Road, Boston Road, Lovers Lane, Elm Street, Pleasant Street, Farmers Row to Broad Meadow, Lawrence Academy Campus.

Area 4 – April 26:  Farmers ROW, Higley Street, Groton School Campus, Shirley Street, Joy Lane, Culver Street, Smith, Dolan Drive.

Area 5 – April 27:  West Street, Whiting Avenue, Hillside Avenue, Fairview Avenue, Mill Street, Gratuity Road, Fitch’s Bridge Road, Nod Road, North Main Street, Riverbend Drive, Wintergreen Lane.

Area 6 – May 2: Cow Pond Road, Painted Post, Amanda’s Way, and all other dead-ends and side streets.

   If you have any questions regarding the flushing program, specific daily locations or if you are experiencing prolonged periods of dirty and/or discolored water, please contact the Water Department Office during our business hours, Monday 8-7 Wednesday-Thursday 8-4 and Friday 8-1 at 448-1122.
