  Pursuant to Section 7-6 of the Groton Charter, the Select Board has called for the formation of a Charter Review Committee.  The Committee will consist of seven (7) members appointed by the Select Board (3 appointees), Finance Committee (2 appointees), Groton Dunstable Regional School District Committee (1 appointee) and Moderator (1 appointee). Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest to Kara Cruikshank, Executive Assistant, 173 Main Street, Groton MA or selectboard@grotonma.gov by September 3, 2024. TOWN OF GROTON

PUBLIC HEARING

The Select Board has scheduled a joint public hearing with the Finance Committee for Monday, September 9, 2024, at 6:15 P.M. at the Groton Town Hall, Second Floor Meeting Room, 173 Main Street, Groton, MA.  The purpose of this hearing will be to discuss the articles contained in the October 5, 2024 Fall Town Meeting Warrant.

The proposed zoning amendment will revise the definition of Age-Restricted Housing to require the affordable units to qualify for inclusion on the state’s Subsidized Housing Inventory and to comply with the federal Fair Housing Act.

  On Monday, July 29th, 2024, the Select Board will discuss the results of the Report that provides data on the potential removal of the Squannacook River Dam during their regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 p.m. The discussion will take place in the Second-Floor Meeting Room of the Groton Town Hall. The purpose of the discussion will be to review the Report and determine whether or not to bring the removal of the Dam to Town Meeting for a decision. We encourage interested residents to attend.
