Town Clerk Mike Bouchard To Retire; Position Could Change From Elected To Appointed

Town Manager Mark Haddad advised the Select Board that Town Clerk Mike Bouchard has notified Haddad that it is his intention to retire later this year. “Based on this, I am proposing to the Board that we change the position from elected to appointed and add a warrant article to the Fall Town Meeting Warrant to make this change.”

EDITORIAL: Preserving Our Social Compact & Our Public Institutions

The resurgence of Covid-19 in Massachusetts is perplexing, unsettling and discouraging. By now, many of us had anticipated that life would be returning to pre-covid patterns and rhythms because we followed the rules of masking and vaccines. Instead, we seem to be entering an era whereby our society will need to make permanent adjustments to mitigate resurgent waves of pandemic disease.
