Judith Sargent

Judith Sargent, 95, a longtime Groton resident passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at River Terrace in Lancaster. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Frances (Moison) Sargent.

Alan Holden Friot October 16, 1932 – July 13, 2020. Born in Malden on October 16, 1932, Alan (also known as Grandpa Alan to his family, friends and fans) Friot died from an aggressive form of colon cancer. He did not suffer long. He passed away at home in Wells, ME with family by his side.

OBITUARY: Derek James Michaud

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of husband, father, brother and son Derek James Michaud, age 46, of Groton. He passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the High Point Hospice House in Haverhill following a courageous three-year battle with ALS. Born in Lawrence on March 11, 1974, he was raised and educated in Wyndham, NH. He was a devoted husband to Sarajean Lizotte Michaud and committed father to his three children.

In a vile message posted on the social media site Rotten in Groton, an anonymous author advocates burning down Groton’s Old Meeting House and by implication destroying the religious society housed in that historic building - The First Parish Church of Groton.
