Fall Town Meeting

Based on the recommendation of Town Manager Mark Haddad, the Select Board voted to hold Fall Town Meeting on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10 a.m. The rain date is set for Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 1 p.m. This is planned as an outdoor meeting like the annual spring town meeting.
     The Warrant opened on July 13 and will close on August 6.

Groton Animal Control

In June Groton Animal Control answered to 40 calls. Many of these calls were handled over the phone. Questions on wildlife are always common in the spring when young are beginning to wander on their own. Please do not feed them or believe they have been abandoned. If they are not injured, they will be fine. If they are injured, fortunately we have several wildlife rehabilitators in our area who will know what to do if an animal is injured.

Groton Police Log Week of June 22 2020

Groton Police answered 843 calls for service during the week of June 22. There were no motor vehicle crashes this week, and only 7 parking tickets were issued. Emergency responders were dispatched to 16 medical calls, 10 resulting in a person needing transport to the hospital.

Masked Groton Farmers Market customers, social distancing and supporting local growers and makers.

Many of our local farmers markets have been cancelled this season because of COVID19. This is bad news for the local farmers, who have fewer options for selling their produce. It is also bad news for everyone who enjoys the many benefits of buying fresh, local produce.
