Members of the Nashaway Girl Scouts and various Groton-Dunstable Scouting groups came together on September 21st for a day of interactive fun and games at Legion Field. The community was invited to learn and experience what Scouting has to offer kids from K-12. There was lots to see and do from crossing rope bridges and tossing tomahawks to cooking cornbread and frying Oreos to trying out the sirens on the Police ATV.
"To dance is to be out of yourself - larger, more beautiful, more powerful . . . this is power, it is glory on earth, and it is yours for the taking" - Agnes De Mille. Dance at Grotonfest. Photo by Russell Harris
The Groton-Dunstable High School Chamber Choir made a splash at Grotonfest last Saturday as they kicked off their 2019-20 season. Their booth highlighted their many accomplishments as well as the singing tour of Spain that they are planning for April 2020. And, as the closing act of the day, they sang their way into the hearts of a big audience. The group is planning several fundraising events this year to help every student get to Spain, including a concert at St. Joseph's Church in Pepperell (Our Lady of Grace), on Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m., and an evening with Livingston Taylor, at De- vens Common Center, on April 5 at 5 p.m. You can learn more about Chamber Choir and how to support them at www. gdchamberchorus.org Photo by Jessica Gray
