Adele Hars

Adele Hars passed away on July 23, 2023, in Paris France, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born Adele Denise Hars in Brooklyn, NY on August 22, 1960, and was the oldest daughter of the late Anthony and Carol Hars of Groton. The family moved to Winchester in the early 1960s and then moved to Groton in 1967. Adele was active in sports including softball, soccer and the Groton Pony Club. She loved the theater and was in productions at both Lawrence Academy and G.D.R.S.S. After graduating in 1978 from Groton-Dunstable, she went on to Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY majoring in Drama where she graduated in 1982.

In 1987, Adele married the love of her life, Emery Davis. They loved to travel and eventually moved from San Francisco to France. Adele was an independent journalist writing for various Tech Publications. She died at the age of 62 less than a month of her 63rd birthday, from complications from breast cancer. Always with a smile and determination to live life to the fullest, she didn’t allow cancer to define her, rather she lived life on her terms. She leaves behind her husband, Emery Davis, whom they celebrated their 36th anniversary in May, two children, Gillian and Paxon Davis, three sisters, Maria, Eve and Anne Hars, and many family and friends. She was much beloved by her friends and family and those who knew her. We ask that in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.
