MIAA Baseball Tourney Changes

The MIAA committee, on a 7-6 vote, approved starting a Super 8 baseball tournament to begin spring 2014. The two-year pilot event will be evaluated by MIAA to determine if it will become permanent. Regardless of division or section, top eight teams in the state will be selected to participate in the double-elimination tournament.

Locals Play In All-Star Game

Midland A defeated Midland B, 93-62 in the Midland Wachusett League All-Star game played in Hudson March 22. Groton-Dunstable's Rachel McCarron (12 points, two rebounds) and sophomore teammate Lindsay Werner (8 points) were selected to the Midland Wachusett B League All-Star team. McCarron has been named to the League All-Star team three out of her four years and was named league MVP. She has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Division one, UMass-Lowell.
