RUNNERS: Area Road Race Calendar

THURSDAY, JULY 4

CHELMSFORD -- The John Carson July 4 two-mile road race will begin at 9:30 a.m. behind Hannaford Supermarket on Parkhurst Road. Pre-register at Sullivan Farms until July 3. Limited race day registration will take place near the starting line from 7:30-9 a.m. Entry fees: adults with shirt $15, kids (12 and under) with shirt $10. Race day: adults $20, kids $15 (Both with shirts while they last.). Cash prizes for first, second and third, $300, $200 and $100. New course record $1,000 for men and women. RACE SERIES

WESTFORD -- The annual Westford Academy summer road race series will be held every Thursday (except July 4 week) starting June 13 and ending Aug. 15. Distance is 3.6 miles and starting time is 6:30 p.m. with a fitness walk at 6:15. Entry fee is $5 per race or $40 for the season. Ages 13 and younger $2 with parent/guardian signature. SUNDAY, JUNE 30

HARVARD -- The Bare Hill Triathlon, sponsored by the Lions Club, will being promptly at 8 a.m. with on-site registration beginning at 6:30. Registration and finish line at the Harvard Public Library, Route 111. This is a USAT sanctioned event. Individual registration is $70 plus a $12 USAT fee.
