ANDY ZINK, a midfielder from Groton, has verbally committed to play lacrosse at Holy Cross next year. Andy will play under tutelage of Jim Morrissey. "He came to Holderness Private School as a sophomore and has played multiple sports for us, including football, basketball, and lacrosse," says Holderness athletic director Lance Galvin. "Andy is a multi-sport player who works hard on the field and in the classroom. Andy's play on both the offensive and defensive sides of the field attracted many college looks. He picked Holy Cross for many reasons, one being his strong connection with Coach Morrissey and Holy Cross athletes." Galvin added that Andy is not just a promising lacrosse player. "Andy is a solid academic student and a wonderful person as well," he said.

TJ VAN RIPER, junior goalkeeper for Loyola University-Maryland men's soccer team, started every game in goal for Greyhounds this year. He led league in saves (87) and shutouts (7.1). Loyola (13-6-1, 7-1-0 MAAC) lost heartbreaker in league's title game. The Groton native was named CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District III First Team goalkeeper, three-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, and also tabbed ECAC Defensive Player of the Week Oct. 16. A business major, he is a member of Loyola's Sellinger Scholars Program and is a two-time honoree on MAAC All-Academic Team. To be eligible for MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. Van Riper earned four varsity letters in soccer at Groton-Dunstable Regional HS and served as Varsity Captain in 2009.
