Lady Crusaders Lose in Central Mass LaCrosse Semi-Final Game
Despite four goals by senior Lauren Kraemer, the Crusaders fell to Algonquin, 16-8, in their C-Mass. girls' lacrosse semi-final game. Nicki Wilkinson, Emma Ordemann, Olivia Aumais and Livy Penney scored 1 goal each for Groton-Dunstable, which finished the season with a 16-5 overall record. Keeper Maria Antonellis finished the game with 10 saves. The T-Hawks out-shot GD 26-22.
"The end of a great season," recalled Groton-Dunstable coach Gary Kraemer. "Three of our losses were to Algonquin."
Groton-Dunstable graduated five seniors: Caroline Stark, Vanessa Song, Katie Judge, and Captains Emma Ordemann and Lauren Kraemer.
Note: Algonquin advanced and won the Central Mass. Championship by defeating Shrewsbury 18-9 in the title game. They faced Western Champ, Longmeadow on Wednesday evening in a State Semi-final match-up.
