Tyngsborough 29.5, GD 24.5
Trevor Drew carded a 2-under 33 at Groton CC, while Kevin Carpenter shot 36 leading the visiting Tigers (3-0) past the Crusaders (3-1). Will Conway (36), Neil Prestia (37), Ethan Loomis (40), Tom Joyner (41), Nick Towle (41) and Jake Brown (41) for GD.
Field Hockey
• Tyngsborough 3, GD 1
The Tigers led 2-0 in the first quarter but Jenna Koch (Assists: Hannah Erickson, Taylor Caldwell) cut the lead in half, chipping a shot past the Tigers’ keeper with just under seven minutes remaining in the half. Highlight reel play! With 2:26 remaining in the third quarter, GD keeper Ashleigh Siciliano charged a Tiger forward who had broken through the GD defense. Both players went down in a tangle of arms and legs. The loose ball was flicked home giving the visiting Tigers a 3-1 lead and the eventual win. Siciliano made 13 saves. Record: GD 0, THS 1.
Boys Soccer
• GD 5, Lunenburg 2
Groton Dunstable senior David Aleverez assisted on the first goal and added goals in both halves to lead the Crusaders to the win at Lunenburg High School. Other scoring: Matt Fordham (David Alverez), Casey Trimper (Matt Fordham), David Alverez (Ethan Ebersmen), Hunter Woolfrey (Leo Chavez Lanzano), David Al- verez (Unassisted). Record: GD 1, Lunenburg 0.
Girls Soccer
• GD 2, Lunenburg 1
Jackie Gervais scored both goals to lead the Crusaders past visiting Lunenburg. GD took a 1-0 lead at 14:03 of the second quarter when Gervais’s (assist: Natalie Childs) shot broke thru Blue Knights goalie Stephanie Powers’ pads. Gervais (unassisted) scored her second goal at 10:36 of the second, a rising shot, high to the left corner past Powers. Record: GD 1, Lunenburg 0.
